Las Cruces Public Libraries is featuring tornado-themed motion pictures for its First Saturday Movie Marathon on May 3.

The free Movie Marathon begins at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2025, in the Kiva Room at Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave. on Roadrunner Transit Route 1.

The first show, beginning at 11 a.m., is a 1996 classic starring Hellen Hunt and Bill Paxton. The second movie begins at 1 p.m. is from 2024 and stars Daisy Edgar-Jones, Anthony Ramos and Glen Powell. The Movie Marathon finale starts at 3:15 p.m. and is from 2023 starring Skeet Ulrich and the late Anne Heche. All three movies are rated PG-13.

Movie-goers are welcome to take light snacks.

In June, the First Saturday Movie Marathon will explore the colorful animated universes inhabited by Miles Morales. July movies will see the colors of emotions and, in August, movie-goers will go time-traveling to the past and return to the future once again.
