Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

In July 2026, City Council approved a resolution for the public to vote on a General Obligation bond to support the Thomas Branigan Memorial Library Renovation and Expansion Project. General Obligation (GO) Bonds are a voter-approved financial tool that allows the City to fund large capital projects. The bond is secured by property tax capacity already in place. Voters determine if they want to support the project without a tax increase.

On November 3, 2026 voters will be asked to consider the following question:

2026 GO Bond question:
Shall the City of Las Cruces be authorized to issue general obligation bonds, payable from property taxes, in an amount up to $26,000,000 to acquire, plan, design, develop, construct, improve, renovate, modernize, automate, furnish and equip the Thomas Branigan Memorial Library?
