Apodaca & Lift Up Area MRA

In March 2025, the Las Cruces City Council formally designated the Apodaca & Lift Up area as a Metropolitan Redevelopment Area (MRA) to address infrastructure needs and promote redevelopment. The project is part of a larger city-wide effort to transform specific neighborhoods into pedestrian-friendly, sustainable, and equitable communities. This designated redevelopment zone is generally bordered by North Main Street to the north, Interstate 25 to the east, Spruce Avenue to the south, and North Solano Drive to the west.
This plan will offer a chance to reshape this area into dynamic, walkable neighborhoods using an all-encompassing urban renewal strategy. The plan will foster community growth and well-being through a focus on diverse housing options, modernized infrastructure, retail corridors, historic preservation and enhanced public safety.
