Developing Youth Leaders Academy

The Developing Youth Leadership Academy is a career‑exploration program for students ages 14–18.

With two pathways, City Trades Career Path and Office & Professional Pathway, participants get a hands‑on look at the many careers within the City of Las Cruces. Students can choose one or explore both to discover what interests them and learn valuable skills for their future

Day 1: Orientation and Trades of the Parks & Recreation Department

Day 2: Trades of Public Works

Day 3: Trades of City Fleet & Transit Department

Day 4: Trades of Utilities

Day 5: Trades of Facilities

Office & Professional Pathways

October 5 – October 9
1 – 4:30 p.m.

Meet at City Hall lobby each day

Day 1: Economic Development – Business Foundations & Entrepreneurship

Day 2: Community Development

Day 3: Finance, Banking & Money Skills

Day 4: Human Resources

Day 5: Communications

Students have the choice to attend both sessions or one. Ages 14-18 high school age. Transportation will be provided for the morning trade session.
