Community Invited to “Chalk the Walk” During National Public Works Week

The City of Las Cruces Public Works Department invites residents of all ages to participate in a special “Chalk the Walk” community art activity from 3 – 5 p.m., Wednesday, May 20, in front of Las Cruces City Hall as part of National Public Works Week celebrations.

Community members are encouraged to help create colorful sidewalk art inspired by the theme: “Rooted in Service, Powered by Community”

The event celebrates the partnership between the City and the community it serves while recognizing the important role public works professionals play in maintaining infrastructure, protecting public health and safety, and supporting quality of life in Las Cruces.

Participants are invited to share messages, drawings, and artwork that reflect community pride, service, connection, and appreciation for the people who help keep the City running every day.

The event is free and open to the public.
