The City of Las Cruces Parks & Recreation Department is proud to announce the lineup for the 2026 Mayor’s Jazz Fest Concert, taking place at 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Plaza de Las Cruces, 100 N. Main Street.

This year’s concert will feature a performance by “Jazz Group of the Year” nominee The Lao Tizer Band, returning to Las Cruces in support of their brand-new album and video release, Amplify. This latest project marks a major evolution for the group, featuring five original vocal tracks and four original instrumentals performed by an all-star lineup of musicians. The album was recorded and filmed live at the legendary EastWest Studios in Hollywood, utilizing a seven-camera video production.

Joining keyboardist and bandleader, and former “Best New Jazz Artist” nominee, Lao Tizer, are special guest performers including platinum-selling American Idol vocalist Elliott Yamin, renowned drummer Joel Rosenblatt (Spyro Gyra, Michel Camilo), GRAMMY Award-winning percussionist Munyungo Jackson (Stevie Wonder, Miles Davis), and Rolling Stone’s 2022 “Bassist of the Year” nominee Anthony Crawford (Jeff Lorber, Erykah Badu).

Audiences are invited to experience an evening of high-energy jazz, blending a dynamic range of musical styles and influences.

The Mayor’s Jazz Fest is a free, family-friendly event that annually kicks off the Parks & Recreation Department’s Music in the Park series. This year’s series will feature performances by local, regional, and national artists every Sunday through August 30, 2026. Additional artists and locations will be announced soon.
