The Las Cruces Parks and Recreation Department is offering a winter break camp featuring indoor and outdoor activities, arts and crafts, and active games for kids in kindergarten through fifth grade.

Camp hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. beginning Dec. 23. The camp will be held Dec. 23, Dec. 24, Dec. 27, Dec. 30, Dec. 31, Jan. 2 and Jan. 3. No camp will be held Dec. 25-26 or on Jan. 1.

The camp is offered for $20 per child due at the time of registration. Breakfast and lunch will be provided each day. Children are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle as well as a pillow and blanket for rest-time.

Two camp locations are available: at Meerscheidt Recreation Center, 1600 E. Hadley Ave.; and at the WIA Building, 340 N. Reymond St.

Registration opens Monday, Dec. 9, and will continue until spots are filled. Registration can be completed via the Out-of-School Time link online or in-person during regular business hours at the following locations:

  • Parks and Recreation Department Administrative Office, 1501 E. Hadley Ave., 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.
  • Meerscheidt Recreation Center, 1600 E. Hadley Ave., 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
  • Las Cruces Regional Aquatic Center, 1401 E. Hadley Ave., 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
  • Frank O’Brien Papen Community Center, 304 W. Bell Ave., 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.
