A vehicle crash Friday morning into the Imperial Sky Motel on west Picacho Ave has resulted in the death of one person.
At about 11:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6, Las Cruces police and fire were dispatched to the crash at 1865 W Picacho Ave. Investigators learned a Chevrolet Suburban was attempting to leave the complex when it drove into the building.
The vehicle struck a 59-year-old man who suffered minor injuries and a 55-year-old woman who succumbed to her injuries on scene. The identity of the victim will not be released until next of kin is notified.
The 22-year-old driver of the Suburban, the only occupant of the vehicle, stayed on scene and was cooperating with police.
The investigation is still ongoing.
