A 35-year-old woman was killed late Tuesday after being struck by a train in Las Cruces.

About 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2026, Las Cruces police were dispatched to the railroad tracks near Brown Road where a southbound BNSF train struck a pedestrian who was walking along the railroad tracks.

The 35-year-old woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Her name will not be released to the public until proper notification of next of kin.

The BNSF train came to a stop after the collision and temporarily blocked several intersections while police investigated the incident.
