Las Cruces Public Libraries host Socrates Cafe the last Saturday of each month to promote critical thinking and understanding among people as they ponder the nature of the world around them.
The Socrates Cafe programs begin at 1 p.m. Sept. 28, Oct. 26, Nov. 30, and Dec. 28, 2024, at Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave. on Roadrunner Transit Route 1.
Participants will explore an open-ended topic of discussion and narrow it down to a specific topic, dissecting it using the Socratic Method. Socrates Cafes were founded by author and scholar Christopher Phillips in 1996.
