In the wake of Friday’s mass shooting at Young Park, several area organizations are providing their free services during a Family Assistance and Resource Center Monday and Tuesday at the Las Cruces Convention Center.

The Family Assistance and Resource Center is intended for anyone impacted by Friday’s tragedy at Young Park – whether they are a victim, relative of a victim, were present during the shooting or just need to seek support from any of the participating community organizations.

The FARC will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, March 24 and 25, at the Las Cruces Convention Center, 680 E. University Ave. All services are free and open to anyone who resides within Las Cruces and Dona Ana County.

Those who need transportation to and from the Convention Center can dial the Essential Services line at 211. Roadrunner Transit also provides zero-fare transportation throughout Las Cruces.

Participating organizations include the Las Cruces police and fire departments, the Office of Emergency Management, New Mexico State University Police Department, Families and Youth Inc., the Southern New Mexico Community Foundation, the Salvation Army, New Mexico Crisis Triage Center, La Piñon SAR, Catholic Charities, Heart for the World, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, the NMSU Extension Family and Consumer Sciences Program, Little Footprints, and victims’ assistance programs from LCPD and the FBI-Las Cruces office.
