Las Cruces police are investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday evening and left a man in critical condition.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting about 10:40 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025, on the 600 block of west Picacho Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man in his mid-20s who had been shot at least once. The victim was transported to University Medical Center of El Paso where he remains in critical condition.

The suspect is described only as a male with no additional information available at this time. The Criminal Investigations Section of the Las Cruces Police Department is actively investigating the incident.

Police are asking for the community’s assistance. Anyone with information related to the shooting is urged to contact Las Cruces police at (575) 526-0795.
