Las Cruces police are continuing to investigate a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash that killed a 48-year-old man late Friday evening.

About 10:50 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2025, Las Cruces police and fire were dispatched to the report of a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash at the intersection of Boutz Road and El Paseo Road. First responders arrived to find Juan A. Haro, 48, suffering from multiple injuries.

Life-saving measures were attempted, but Haro was pronounced dead at the scene.

Traffic investigators learned Haro was crossing Boutz, north to south, when he was struck by a black Cadillac CTS that was traveling west on Boutz and approaching El Paseo Road.

The Cadillac came to a stop nearby and police interviewed the 17-year-old driver. The vehicle was seized pending a search warrant and further investigation.

At this time, no charges have been filed pending further investigation.

Anyone who has information or video of this incident, and has not yet talked to police, is asked to contact traffic investigators at (575) 526-0795.
