Learn 3-D Printing for Assistive Devices During World Usability Day

Thomas Branigan Memorial Library is hosting a free workshop for World Usability Day on Nov. 14 that focuses on 3-D printing for assisted devices.

World Usability Day encourages creating a better world for all, including those with disabilities. The library will have assorted 3-D printed assisted devices available for view, and attendees will be able to browse the library of patent-free files that can help people with disabilities. Items includes aids to hold a pen or open a can of soda, or make buckling a seatbelt easier.

The workshop is from 1-2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, at Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave.

Staff can help find a patent-free device to assist with a disability and demonstrate how to use a Makerspace 3-D printer to create an assistive device.
