
In observance of the Juneteenth holiday, most City of Las Cruces offices will be closed Friday, June 19, 2026. However, all emergency services, including police and fire will operate as usual.
City offices and facilities closed Friday, June 19, for Juneteenth include:
- A Fielder Memorial Safe Haven
- City Hall
- Youth Development & Diversion Program
- East Mesa Recreation Center
- Frank O’Brien Papen Community Center
- Thomas Branigan Memorial Library and its branch libraries
- All museums
- All Senior Programs services and facilities
- South Central Solid Waste Authority administrative offices
- Visit Las Cruces
- Roadrunner Transit Administrative offices
Operating, or open, with hours, includes:
- All solid waste commercial and residential services will operate as usual on June 19.
- The Foothills Landfill will be open with regular business hours on June 19.
- South Central Solid Waste curbside collection services for commercial and residential will operate with regular hours.
- Corralitos Landfill open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Amador Transfer Station, 2865 W. Amador Ave., will be open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Dona Ana Collection sites open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Roadrunner Transit Fixed Route and Vamonos operates on a normal schedule 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. (Admin Office will be Closed)
- Meerscheidt Recreation Center will be open 1 – 5 p.m. for open gym session.
- Regional Aquatic Center Open 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Natatorium Open 6 – 11 a.m.
- Outdoor Pools
- Laabs Pool open noon to 3 p.m.
- East Mesa Bataan Memorial Pool open with 2 Swim Sessions. Open Swim I: noon to 3 p.m. and Open Swim II: 3:30-6:30 p.m.
- Rio Grande Theatre (Events facilitated by Quality of Life/Museums)
