In observance of the 4th of July holiday, most City of Las Cruces offices and facilities will be closed Friday, July 3, 2026. However, all emergency services, including police and fire will operate as usual.

City offices, facilities or programs OPEN AND OPERATING Friday, July 3 include:

  • All Solid Waste commercial and residential services will operate as normal.
  • Foothills Landfill will be open with regular hours.
  • South Central Solid Waste commercial and residential pick-up services operate as normal.
  • Roadrunner Transit will operate on a regular schedule from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., but will have some detoured routes due to the parade at 5 p.m.
  • Las Cruces Regional Aquatic Center, 1401 E. Hadley Ave., will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Early Closure at 3 p.m. due to Electric Light Parade).
  • Fitness Swim: 7:30 – 11:30 a.m.
    Open Swim: noon – 3 p.m.
    Open Gym: 7:30 – 3 p.m.
  • Las Cruces Natatorium, 1405 E. Hadley Ave., will be open from 6 – 11 a.m. (Early closure at 11 a.m. due to Electric Light parade).
  • Laabs Pool, 701 W. Picacho Avenue, will be open.
    Session I: noon to 3 p.m.
    Session II: 3:30 – 6:30 p.m.
  • East Mesa Pool, 6151 Reynolds Drive., will be open.
    Session I: noon to 3 p.m.
    Session II: 3:30 – 6:30 p.m.

City offices, facilities or programs CLOSED Friday, July 3 include:

  • All Parks Facilities EXCEPT Aquatic Center, Natatorium, Laabs and East Mesa Outdoor pools with times as noted above.
  • City Hall
  • LCU Utilities Administration Office
  • Visit Las Cruces
  • South Central Solid Waste Administration Office
  • All Museums
  • All Libraries
  • All Senior Programs

City offices, facilities or programs OPEN AND OPERATING Saturday, July 4 include:

  • Solid Waste Commercial collections will operate as usual.
  • Las Cruces Regional Aquatic Center will be open with the following hours:
    Gym: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    Fitness Swim: 8 – 11:30 a.m.
    Open Swim (One session): noon – 3 p.m.
  • Las Cruces Natatorium will be open from 6 – 11 a.m.
  • Laabs Pool (701 W. Picacho Avenue) will be open. It will be a Free Swim Day (Up to Lifeguard Capacity).
    Session I: noon to 3 p.m.
    Session II: 3:30 – 6:30 p.m.
  • East Mesa Pool (6151 Reynolds Drive) will be open It will be a Free Swim Day (Up to Lifeguard Capacity).
    Session I: noon to 3 p.m.
    Session II: 3:30 – 6:30 p.m.
  • The South Central Solid Waste Transfer Station, 2865 W. Amador Ave., Chaparral Transfer Station and the Corralitos Landfill and all county collection will close early at 2 p.m.

City offices and facilities or programs CLOSED Saturday, July 4 include:

  • All Parks Facilities EXCEPT Aquatic Center, Natatorium, Laabs and East Mesa Outdoor pools with times as noted above.
  • Foothills Landfill will be closed on and resume normal hours on Monday, July 6 with regular hours.
  • Rio Grande Theatre
  • All Roadrunner Transit services and facilities.
  • Visit Las Cruces
  • All Museums
  • All Libraries
  • All Senior Programs

The South Central Solid Waste Transfer Station, 2865 W. Amador Ave., Chaparral Transfer Station and the Corralitos Landfill and all county collection will close early at 2 p.m.
