The Las Cruces Police Department will highlight its new Real-Time Crime Center during the next Bridging the Badge livestream at 8 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2025.

The livestream can be viewed on the Las Cruces Police Department’s Facebook page and the City of Las Cruces’ YouTube channel.

Bridging the Badge is designed to promote understanding, collaboration and informed dialogue on topics important to Las Cruces residents. Thursday’s discussion will focus on the department’s newly operational Real-Time Crime Center, a state-of-the-art facility aimed at enhancing public safety through proactive policing.

The Real-Time Crime Center, located within LCPD headquarters in downtown Las Cruces, is now operational and was made possible through a combination of local, state and federal funding sources totaling approximately $2 million.

The RTCC serves as a centralized hub for information, collaboration and intelligence. As patrol officers are dispatched to a call, technicians at the RTCC can retrieve and analyze relevant data, including premises and subject history, and relay critical information to officers in the field.

RTCC technicians can also access live closed-circuit camera feeds, drone footage and body-worn camera video, allowing events to be monitored in real time so vital information can be shared with officers as situations unfold.

Community members are encouraged to tune in to the livestream to learn more about how the Real-Time Crime Center operates and how it supports the department’s mission to enhance public safety through transparency, technology and collaboration.
