Bookshelves with books

Las Cruces Public Libraries invite residents to join the Branigan Book Club, a literary discussion group, that meets the fourth Tuesday of each month.

The next Branigan Book Club meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, in the Kiva Room at Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho St., on Roadrunner Transit Route 1.

The Branigan Book Club discusses books with a more serious and literary focus and reads both fiction and nonfiction.

Books to be discussed through January 2025 include:

  • October: “There There” by Tommy Orange
  • November: “The Night Watchman” by Louise Erdrich
  • December: “Tattoos on the Heart: The Power of Boundless Compassion” by Gregory Boyle
  • January: “The Vice President’s Black Wife: The Untold Life of Julia Chinn” by Amrita Chakrabarti Myers

Branigan Memorial Library has a small collection of these books available each month for checkout by book club participants.

For more information, contact Deanna Duffy, Librarian, at (575) 528-4005 or by email at [email protected].

Participants who require accommodations for a disability should call the library at (575) 528-4102 at least 48 hours in advance.
