The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to City of Las Cruces for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2025.

The report was judged by an impartial panel to meet the highest standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

As of 2025, the City of Las Cruces has been presented with 22 consecutive Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting (ACFR) Awards.

“This award highlights the consistent work of the Finance team in maintaining transparent and reliable financial reporting,” said Josie Treviño, Assistant Finance Director. “This work reflects our responsibility to provide the Las Cruces community with clear and accountable financial information.”
