National Night Out, the annual community-building event that brings together neighbors, first responders and service-based organizations, will be held 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2026, in Downtown Las Cruces.
The family-friendly event encourages neighbors to spend time outside interacting with each other and with first responders from throughout Las Cruces and Dona Ana County. Several local organizations and non-profits will also be on hand to share information on the services they provide.
Many of the participants will have free giveaways and resource brochures available. For the first time at the Las Cruces National Night Out, local food trucks will be on hand with their menu items for sale.
National Night Out will be held on Plaza de Las Cruces and along Main Street between Bowman Avenue and the roundabout near City Hall. Parking is available along Church and Water streets, in the lots near Thomas Branigan Memorial Library and City Hall, and in the parking garage at City Hall.
In Las Cruces, National Night Out is typically celebrated on the first Tuesday in August. For 2026, the event was moved to the first Tuesday of October primarily to avoid the summer heat.
