The Las Cruces Police Department’s Traffic Unit issued 54 citations Wednesday during a one-hour enforcement operation along west Picacho Avenue.
Of the 54 traffic citations, 22 were issued to motorists who exceeded the posted speed limit, 10 to drivers operating a motor vehicle without proof of insurance and nine for driving without vehicle registration.
Other citations issued Wednesday included:
- 3 for improper display of license plate
- 2 for no driver’s license
- 8 for miscellaneous traffic infractions
The traffic enforcement operation was held Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025, along west Picacho Avenue near 17th Street. Additional traffic enforcement operations will likely be held in the coming weeks.
