Social Justice Reading Group meets the last Tuesday of the month to discuss an issue at a local, national or international level. A librarian will present on the featured book, but you are welcome to join the conversation having read another book on the topic or no book at all, just a healthy curiosity.
Latiné-X Lit is a new book club and supportive space to celebrate Latiné literature together. The book club takes place the third Wednesday of the month at noon. The book club selection for the month of March is The Bitch by Pilar Quintana, translated by Lisa Dillman.
The Banned Books Club meets the last Thursday of the month from 12:30 to 1:30. The discussion centers around a specific banned book each month. The selection for the month of March is Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov. Lolita inspires debates about the uncomfortable reality of the sexualization of little girls and women.
