Las Cruces Utilities Water Distribution Program will be flushing water main lines utilizing the Neutral Output Discharge Elimination System (NODES) vehicle in the area of:

Happy Trails Drive
Happy Trails South
Happy Trails North

Adjacent areas also may be affected by this flushing are Trails West Retirement Community.

Residents may notice discolored water due to iron, manganese, and calcium deposits. Although the water is safe to drink, City officials recommend waiting for the water to become clear before washing laundry.

The discoloration should disappear within 24 hours. If it does not, residents should flush all faucets in their house for five minutes. If the discoloration remains, call the Las Cruces Utilities Dispatch at 575-526-0500 for assistance. The TTY phone number is 575-541-2182.

Engler Rd and Sonoma Ranch Blvd Traffic Control

Lane closures and shoulder work will take place at the roundabout at Engler Road and Sonoma Ranch Boulevard. The work will start on October 13, 2026, and is expected to be completed by October 23, 2026.

A landscape contractor will be installing irrigation, vegetation, and hardscape.

The traffic control will not affect the Roadrunner Transit.

Nacho Drive between Lohman Avenue and Foothills Road will be closed from Monday, October 5, 2026, through Wednesday, October 7, 2026. Highland Enterprises, Inc. will be performing roadway work as part of the 2025–2026 Pavement Replacement Project. Access to residences and businesses will be maintained throughout the closure, and motorists are urged to follow all posted signs. Roadrunner Transit routes and bus stops will not be affected. This work is being done within City Council District 3, and the City has confirmed that no conflicting construction projects will occur during this time.

Nacho Drive between Lohman Avenue and Foothills Road will have intermittent lane closures from Wed., Sept. 30 through Sat., Oct. 3, 2026.

Road closures are in effect for traffic headed southbound at Triviz and Telshor. Las Cruces Utilities staff are completing repairs to a damaged gas line. We expect the work to be completed by 5 PM today and traffic to resume normal patterns.

Beginning Monday, September 28, 2026, and continuing through Friday, October 11, 2026, intermittent lane closures will be in place on Alameda Boulevard between W. Las Cruces Avenue and E. Amador Avenue, as well as on W. Griggs Avenue between S. Reymond Street and S. Water Street. H & H Underground will be performing underground utility work as part of a wire utility permit. The closures may impact Roadrunner Transit Route 5, and access to nearby businesses will be maintained throughout the project. Motorists are urged to follow all posted signs. The work is taking place within City Council Districts 1 and 4, and the City has verified that no conflicting construction projects will occur during this time.

Beginning Monday, September 21, 2026, lane closures will be in place for northbound traffic on Triviz Drive between Spruce Avenue and Redwood Street, and for westbound traffic on Spruce Avenue between Telshor Boulevard and Wingate Road. These closures are expected to last for approximately one month. A‑Mountain Professional Construction will be performing roadway and signal improvements at the intersection during this time. The work will affect bus stop 12 on Roadrunner Transit Route 1, and access to residences and businesses will be maintained. Motorists are urged to follow all posted signs, and through traffic is strongly encouraged to seek alternate routes. The City has confirmed that no conflicting construction projects will occur during this period.

Streets Management will be applying chip seal surface treatment on various city streets beginning Monday, September 21, 2026, and continuing through Friday, September 25, 2026, with completion expected in five days. Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and residents and businesses will be notified 24 hours in advance. Streets affected include Venus Street from Bataan West to the end of the pavement, Jupiter Street from Venus Street to Mars Avenue, and Sunridge Road from Neptune Drive to Highridge Street, all within City Council District 5. Access to residences and businesses will be maintained, though periodic closures will occur. Motorists are urged to use caution or select alternate routes. Roadrunner Transit will not be affected, and the City has confirmed that no conflicting construction projects will occur during this period.

Traffic calming devices will be placed on Monte Sombra Avenue as part of the City’s Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program.
Installation of two sets of temporary speed cushions will begin on Monday, September 28, 2026, and is expected to take a week to complete the work, weather permitting.

The construction will take place on Monte Sombra Avenue between Sonoma Ranch Boulevard and McGuffey Street. Additional signs along Monte Sombra Avenue will be installed in conjunction with the construction of the traffic calming devices. The work will take place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Motorists are asked to use caution through this area or use alternatives routes to avoid possible delays as the construction may have intermittent lane closures that will affect traffic along Monte Sombra Avenue. The City has verified that no conflicting public or private construction projects will take place in the immediate area at this time and Roadrunner Transit routes will not be affected.

Crews from the City of Las Cruces Traffic Management section will be constructing the traffic calming devices.

Las Cruces Motorists will experience a lane closure between E. Northrise Drive and Morning Star Drive for the north and south bound traffic on Roadrunner Pkwy starting September 16 and completing on September 21.

H & H Underground will be installing underground infrastructure for UPN Networks.

The shoulder work will not affect the Roadrunner Transit.

Northbound El Paseo Road will experience a right‑lane closure north of Idaho Avenue beginning Monday, September 14, 2026. The project is expected to be completed within two days. City Road Construction crews will be conducting street maintenance in the area. RoadRUNNER Transit Route 2 may be affected, and access to nearby residences and businesses will be maintained throughout the project. Motorists are urged to follow all posted signs. This work will be performed within City Council District 3, and the City has confirmed that no conflicting construction projects will take place during this time.

Sonoma Ranch Boulevard between Engler Road and Central Avenue will have a shifting taper beginning Monday, September 14, 2026, and continuing through Wednesday, September 16, 2026. Renegade Construction will be performing utility work in support of the Fire Station #9 project. The work will not affect RoadRUNNER Transit routes, and access to residences and businesses will be maintained throughout the project. Motorists are urged to follow all posted signs. This work is taking place within City Council District 5, and the City has confirmed that no conflicting construction projects will occur during this time.

Traffic controls will be in place from Friday September 11, 2026, through Tuesday September 15, 2026 on the following streets:

• Citizens Place: Intermittent lane closures between Memorial Court and E. University Avenue.
• East University Avenue: Shoulder work between Las Alturas Drive and S. Telshor Blvd.

Boutz Road between S. Main Street and El Paseo Road will have intermittent lane closures on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, as Cactus Asphalt performs road work for the 2025–2026 Micro‑Surface Project. Roadrunner Transit bus stops 6 and 7 on Route 6, along with stops 30 and 31 on Route 7, will be affected at various times throughout the day. Access to all residences and businesses will be maintained, and motorists are urged to follow all posted signs. This work is being conducted within City Council Districts 2 and 3.

Telshor Boulevard (Between Spruce Ave. and Hammerand Ct.)

Telshor Blvd. between Spruce Ave. and Hammerand Ct. will experience intermittent lane closures from Tuesday, September 8 to Friday, September 11. Las Cruces Utilities will be performing utility exploration in the vicinity. The closure work will not affect any Roadrunner Transit Routes or bus stops.

Intermittent lane closures will take place Wednesday September 2 – Friday September 4 on the following streets:

· Lenox Avenue: between N. Main Street to Avondale Drive.
· North Alameda Blvd.: at the intersection of N. Alameda Blvd and Hoagland Rd.

These lane closures may impact Roadrunner Transit routes 1, 6 and 7.

Commerce Drive near 1120 Commerce Drive will be closed to through traffic from Monday, August 31, 2026, through Thursday, September 3, 2026. Caliper Construction will install and tie in utility lines in the vicinity. The closure will not affect any Roadrunner Transit routes or bus stops, and access to nearby businesses will be maintained throughout the project. Motorists are urged to follow all posted signs. The City has confirmed that no conflicting construction projects will occur during this period.

City of Las Cruces maintained Parking Lot at N. Campo St. and E. Hadley Ave will undergo crack seal treatment Wednesday, August 26 and Thursday, August 27, 2026.

It will be reopened on Friday, August 28, 2026.

Those who park in the lot will be asked to seek alternate parking during this time.

Silverado Loop will have a road closure between between Stern Drive and Ringneck Drive. The work is scheduled to start on August 24 and is to be completed by October 5.

A contractor will be removing the existing pavement and will be installing curb and gutter, ADA ramps, sidewalks, utilities including water, sewer, gas, and pavement.

A detour route will be provided to detour traffic through neighboring streets; we ask that you please follow the detour signage that will be installed. 

The road closure will not affect the Roadrunner Transit.

New traffic calming devices will be placed on Sedona Hills Parkway as part of the City’s Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program. Installation of two sets of temporary speed cushions will begin Monday, July 6, 2026, and is expected to take a week to complete the work.

The construction will take place on Sedona Hills Parkway between the west end of Saddle Rock Road and Fire Mountain Lane. Additional signs along Sedona Hills Parkway and Saddle Rock Road will be installed in conjunction with the construction of the traffic calming devices. The work will take place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Motorists are asked to use caution through this area or use alternatives routes to avoid possible delays as the construction may have intermittent lane closures that will affect traffic along Sedona Hills Parkway. RoadRUNNER Transit routes will not be affected.

Las Cruces Motorists will experience lane closures on N. Valley Drive. on the outside lane for the south bound traffic 100 feet north of the intersection of N. Valley Drive and Hoagland Road. This work is scheduled for June 25, 2026.

A wire utility contractor will be installing underground infrastructure for CONTERRA Fiber as part of a utility permit.

The lane closure will not affect the Roadrunner Transit. Access to the school and businesses will be maintained during the construction.

Las Cruces Motorists will experience after-hours work at 2001 Bataan Memorial West starting June 22, 2026, through June 25. The working hours are 9 PM to 6 AM.

A utility contractor will be installing a new sewer system for a new development north of Circle K.

After-hours’ work will not affect Roadrunner Transit. This work is being done in Council District #5. Access to residents will be maintained during the construction.

The business located at 1050 West Amador Avenue in Las Cruces will experience a water outage between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Monday, June 22, 2026.

R & R Construction will be doing a water tie-in as part of a Right-of-Way permit.

Adjacent areas also may be affected. If water on your street is scheduled to be turned off, crews will post a door hanger notice a minimum of 24 hours in advance.

Once service is restored, residents may notice discolored water due to iron, manganese, and calcium deposits. Although the water is safe to drink, the City officials recommend waiting for the water to become clear before washing laundry.

A lane closure will take place on the northbound lanes of Sonoma Ranch Boulevard between Santa Minerva Avenue and Central Avenue from Monday, June 22 through Friday, June 26.

Renegade Construction will be doing utility and concrete work in the roadway as part of the Fire Station #9 project.

As part of the 2025-2026 Crack Seal Project, the following street will experience intermittent lane closures on Monday June 8, 2026, until approximately Friday June 12, 2026.

A lane closure will be in effect for Eastbound Avenida de Mesilla at Valley Dr. on Tues., Dec. 30, 2025. The project is expected to be completed in two days.

Residents and businesses on Calle del Sol from Avenida Blanco to Avenida de Mesilla will experience a water outage from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 22, 2025. The outage will allow Spartan Construction of NM, LLC to complete water line tie-ins as part of the Casa Linda Acres Reconstruction CIP. Adjacent areas may also be affected. If water on your street is scheduled to be turned off, the contractor will post a door hanger notice at least 24 hours in advance. Once service is restored, residents may notice discolored water due to iron, manganese, and calcium deposits. Although the water is safe to drink, City officials recommend waiting until the water becomes clear before washing laundry. The discoloration should disappear within 24 hours. As part of the 2025-2026 Micro-Surface Project, several Las Cruces streets will experience intermittent lane closures beginning Thursday, October 9, 2025, through approximately Saturday, October 11, 2025. Las Cruces motorists are advised that Griggs Avenue, between Nevarez Street and Hermosa Street, will be closed to thru traffic beginning Monday, October 6, 2025, for the construction of speed tables. The project, expected to last approximately one week until Friday, October 10, 2025, is being performed by Sandoval Construction. Las Cruces Motorists will experience a road closure for N. Melendres St. The closure will take place between W. Hadley Ave. and W. Mountain Ave. starting September 15, 2025, through December 30, 2025, depending on weather conditions. The hours of operation are from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.  A detour route will be provided to detour traffic through neighboring streets; we ask that you please follow the detour signage that will be installed.

A-Mountain Construction will be working on Phase 1 in the reconstruction of the N. Melendres St. Roadway Project; installation of storm drain inlets, pavement, curb and gutter, driveways, ADA ramps, sidewalks, street lighting, and utilities including water, sewer, and gas.

The road closure will not affect the Roadrunner Transit.

This work is being done in Council District # 4.
