PHMSA Grant – Gas Pipeline Rehabilitation Project Public Input Meeting

Through state representatives and City Council, the City of Las Cruces Utilities Department (LCU) has obtained a federal grant, utilizing Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) funding to upgrade existing gas pipelines. LCU, together with the City Public Works Department and HDR Engineering, has finalized the design of the gas pipeline rehabilitation and the project went out to bid on May 5, 2026. A-Mountain Construction has been selected as the contractor.
A neighborhood public input meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at City Hall, Rooms 2007B and 2007C located at 700 N. Main St. The meeting will begin with introductions and continue on project design, cost, and schedule information. There will also be discussions of neighborhood impacts due to construction. Representatives from the City and A-Mountain Construction will be available to respond to comments and answer questions pertaining to this project.
