The four members of Cuarenta y Cinco

Cuarenta y Cinco, one of New Mexico’s top groups since 1991, will be featured along with Angelica Padilla and Illusion Band during the Las Cruces Parks and Recreation Department’s Summer Community Concert to be held Aug. 24.

The Summer Community Concert will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, 2024, at Plaza de Las Cruces, 100 N. Main St. in Downtown Las Cruces. The concert is a free, family event.

Cuarenta y Cinco is upbeat music and considered the traditional sound of New Mexico. Known for its high-energy dance music, Cuarenta y Cinco has long ruled northern New Mexico and has been a favorite of many people throughout the southwest. Cuarenta y Cinco has had much success by the blend of rancheras, cumbias, balses, boleros, country/western, oldies and modern rock they perform.

The ability of the band to go from hard core rancheras, to country, to rock and back again is what makes them one of New Mexico’s best known variety bands. The ability to get air play from their eight albums is what has kept them a permanent New Mexico fixture over the years and a powerhouse when it comes to a loyal fan base.

Food trucks will be on site for this event.

This free community concert is part of the City’s live music season, highlighted by the Parks and Recreation Department’s Music in the Park Series. For more information call the Parks and Recreation Department at (575) 541-2550.
