Frequently Asked Questions

Our participants will be doing a variety of indoor and outdoor physical activities, group games, arts and crafts, and community service projects.  We have 30 minutes for homework and quiet reading time each day.  A daily schedule is posted so the kids know what to expect.

6:00 pm is the latest.  We know things happen and encourage you to save the site phone number to communicate with staff in case an issue arises.  Site phone number will be available on day one of camp.  After 15 minutes, law enforcement may be asked to step in.

The after-school meal is usually served after the child is checked into the program.  The meals are provided by FYI+ through a catering service.

We encourage participants to eat meals provided.  If your child is picky when it comes to food, we suggest sending them with a “healthy” lunch and snack.  We do not allow unhealthy snacks (i.e.; Hot Cheetos, sugary items, sodas, candy, etc.)

Our priority is to provide a safe environment for all our participants.  We will not tolerate any type of aggressive behavior or bullying.  Parents will be called to pick up if necessary.

Parks & Recreation staff have been vetted by the City of Las Cruces, background checks, drug screening and references are thoroughly checked.  They are CPR/First Aid certified and have Defensive Driving training.
