Case Management

Senior Programs employs a collaborative approach to assess, plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate the services required to meet the needs of individual seniors. Additionally, we identify and connect seniors with other resources within the community. Please contact us to be connected with a case manager for assistance with housing needs, food security, or assistive devices.

Home Care

Senior Programs offers Home Care services to senior citizens to enhance their quality of life and promote self-sufficiency. Services include light housekeeping, basic meal preparation, some shopping, money management, making phone calls, running errands, and occasional local transportation. These services enable seniors to maintain their independence and dignity while living in their own homes. Note that administering medications, dressing wounds, personal care, or any other type of nursing or medical care is not provided by City staff.

Respite Care

Respite Care provides relief for caregivers of seniors diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or related disorders. By offering a qualified professional to relieve the caregiver for up to four hours once per week, Respite Care allows caregivers to take a break and recharge. This respite fosters better caregiving in the long run and enhances the quality of life for both the caregiver and the senior.

Grandparents Raising Grandchildren

The Grandparents Raising Grandchildren program offers free information and referrals, support groups, and presentations tailored for grandparents acting as primary caregivers, along with supplemental services. This invaluable program equips seniors in our community with the necessary support to successfully raise their grandchildren. Resources include guidance on accessing government benefits, navigating the child welfare system, and managing difficult behaviors. The program also provides presentations on topics such as healthy eating, positive discipline, and stress management. These resources are essential for helping grandparents feel confident in their caregiving roles. Additionally, the program connects grandparents with other caregivers in the community, fostering valuable support and networking opportunities.

Grandparents aged 55 and older who serve as the primary caregiver for their grandchildren are eligible for this program.
