Youth groups in Las Cruces, with members 24 years old and younger, are eligible for a limited number of $150 stipends to participate in a Keep Las Cruces Beautiful cleanup through May 1, 2025.

The Keep Las Cruces Beautiful Service Opportunity provides a $150 stipend to eligible youth groups who take part in a cleanup. Funds come from the New Mexico Tourism Department’s Clean and Beautiful program and are eligible for youth groups that meet the requirements. The Clean and Beautiful program has allocated a limited number of $150 stipends for eligible youth groups.

To be eligible for funding, a vendor packet must be completed and submitted. All members of the group must be 24 years old or younger and must commit to completing the cleanup. KLCB will provide gloves, bags, and grabbers. After the cleanup groups must return the grabbers and any unused items, along with a cleanup report, to the KLCB office where the invoice will be signed.

Youth groups can clean various locations such as streets surrounding a specific neighborhood, nearby parks, trails or any area in need of beautification. KLCB can provide recommendations on areas that need attention.

To register, visit KLCB online. Applicants are encouraged to read all the information under the Cleanup Opportunities tab and complete the required form. This opportunity operates on a first-come, first-served basis. The KLCB coordinator will contact applicants once their registration is submitted. After notification, the group coordinator will have one week to submit the vendor packet which is required to receive the stipend. The stipend will be issued after the project is completed and may take up to 30 days to process.

For more information contact Keep Las Cruces Beautiful at (575) 528-4506, TTY 711, or email KLCB@lascruces.gov.
