The OIR Group, the firm the City of Las Cruces hired in 2021 to audit the Las Cruces Police department, will host its second community outreach meeting from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 24, 2025, at Munson Senior Center (975 S. Mesquite St.).
The community outreach meeting will serve as an opportunity for residents to:
– Connect with representatives from the OIR Group
– Gain insight into the purpose, function, and types of services provided
– Ask questions in an open forum
– Share experiences, information, or concerns to help the OIR Group get a pulse on policing in our community
Earlier in the day, the OIR Group will present its seventh semi-annual report to City Council during a work session at 1 p.m. in Council Chambers (700 N. Main St.).
The OIR Group reviews LCPD Internal Affairs investigations into alleged misconduct and provides feedback on the accuracy of the findings. The firm presents its findings and recommendations to City Council twice a year.
This is a public event, and all are welcome to attend!
