Las Cruces City Councilors approved resolutions to hire an airport consultant and to enter four-year contracts with 10 temporary employment services during a regular meeting held Monday, Aug. 19, 2024.

The airport consultant, Dubois and King Inc. of Randolph, Vt., will be hired on a five-year contract to help with the Las Cruces International Airport’s wildlife management plan, the disadvantaged business enterprise plan, and the airport’s master and security plans, among other planning and technical projects.

The contract is capped at $500,000 per year and is limited to five years.

Las Cruces City Councilors unanimously approved the resolution.

City Councilors also approved a resolution to award contracts to 10 temporary employment services through June 30, 2028.

Of the 10 temporary employment services, four are from either Las Cruces or El Paso. The temporary employment services help fill as-needed temporary vacancies that are sometimes caused by unforeseen illness, backlogs, projects, vacancies, or positions not being approved in the budget process within City government.

The temporary employment services approved are:

  • 22nd Century Technologies Inc.
  • Athena Consulting.
  • Cogent Infotech Corp.
  • Compunnel Software Group Inc.
  • Cathyjon Enterprises Inc. DBA HB Staffing.
  • Itsquest Inc.
  • Manpower Group US Inc.
  • RS Employment Services DBA Redcap Staffing.
  • Sparrow Company.
  • Think Beyond Inc.

The contracts are not to exceed $2 million per year, per vendor.

City Council approved the resolution in a 6-1 vote.

Las Cruces City Council will next meet in a Work Session at 1 p.m. Aug. 26 at City Hall, 700 N. Main St. All City Council Meetings and Work Sessions can be seen on the City’s YouTube channel.
