Las Cruces Public Libraries is offering beginner ukulele classes for adults, teens and children beginning April 17 at Thomas Branigan Memorial Library.

The beginner ukulele classes will be held on four consecutive weeks at Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave.

Classes for adults and teenagers will be held from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Thursdays from April 17 through May 8 in the Craft Room. Ukulele classes for children will be from 3 to 3:45 p.m. Fridays from April 18 through May 9 in the Roadrunner Room.

Pre-registration is required for enrollment. Email Brenda Cummings at bcummings@lascruces.gov to enroll.

Due to high demand, regular attendance and commitment are encouraged. Students who show promise and continued interest will be invited to join the existing classes. Once 10 students are enrolled, all others will be added to the waiting list for future 4-week beginner classes.

The library has eight ukuleles available for use by children during the class. Adults must provide their own instruments.

Those who require accommodations for a disability to participate in this event are encouraged to call the library at (575) 528-4102, TTY 711, at least 48 hours in advance.

For more information contact Brenda Cummings, Library Assistant, at (575) 528-4102.
