The City of Las Cruces will hold a Shopping Cart Ordinance Overview Meeting to help local businesses navigate through the compliance components of the Shopping Cart Ordinance.
Las Cruces City Council recently adopted the Shopping Cart Ordinance to make the removal of shopping carts from the premises of a business establishment a violation of municipal code. Stores that provide shopping carts for customer use will be affected. In order to remain in compliance, store owners must take action to reduce the removal of shopping carts from the premises and must facilitate the retrieval of carts removed. This meeting will take place to answer questions and review the process for creating the shopping cart plan.
The meeting is scheduled from 6 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 in Las Cruces City Hall Council Chambers, 700 N. Main Street. Community Development and Las Cruces Police Department staff will be present to answer questions.
More information on the Shopping Cart Ordinance can be found at the City’s Website.
This meeting will also be televised on Comcast, Cable channel 20 and the City’s YouTube Channel.
