Las Cruces International Airport (LRU) is uniquely positioned to be an innovative partner for your business needs. LRU is an ideal location for aviation – and aerospace-related businesses, research, and manufacturing. Join key airport tenants such as New Mexico State University Physical Science Laboratory with their Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Flight Test Center.

Zoning & Development

The airport property encompasses more than 4,000 acres which is zoned M-3c (high intensity industrial, conditional). The only zoning condition is that development comply with Federal Aviation Association (FAA) regulations for airport activity. The City is the developer of the adjacent Las Cruces Innovation and Industrial Park. Sites there can be combined with airport land when that suits a project. Utilities are in place along Runway 8-26. This development-ready land could be accessed with minimal infrastructure extension.

Work Force

Located on Interstate 10 and only 10 miles from downtown Las Cruces, LRU is easily accessible to a large, trained, and well-educated work force.

Investment

LRU is committed to be a leader in innovation economic development engine . That commitment includes increasing investment in infrastructure projects to support larger aircraft and increasing aircraft operations beginning scheduled air service to Albuquerque and collaborating with the on-site fire station.

The State of New Mexico offers an aircraft manufacturing tax deduction as well as several aerospace and aviation advantages. Contact the City’s Business Development section to discuss your business proposal or to find out about State and local business incentives.
