Statement: Coy Lowther is a local artists who draws her inspirations from her home town and the wonderful creatures that dwell there. She is a painter, illustrator, and muralist. “Ocotillo is part of a series of paintings that captures the beautiful blooms you’ll see across Las Cruces. This painting, captures the three stages an Ocotillo grows through, starting at the bottom with its strong, knarly roots, to its burgeoning buds and finally it’s full bloom. Capturing the three stages is a metaphor to pay homage to your roots and strive to bloom through all stages of life.
