Bus Shelter Location: Del Rey Boulevard and Mars Avenue, near the Veterans Administration clinic.
Statement: Hispanic artist Jose Saldivar presents his digital painting representing transportation via our state bird, the roadrunner. The gnome riding the bird is carrying a glowing red chilé lamp. Jose is a father, caregiver, and a long-term resident of Las Cruces. A lifelong artist, Jose works with digital and traditional media using acrylics, watercolors, and oils. He enjoys the fantasy realm and has painted many murals and portraits.
Art Stop Bus Shelter Public Art Exhibit was created by the City Art Board for the purpose of making art more accessible to community members and enhancing the everyday experience of our public spaces.
