Las Cruces Public Libraries invite residents to join the Branigan Book Club, a literary discussion group, that meets the fourth Tuesday of each month.
The next Branigan Book Club meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, in the Kiva Room at Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho St., on Roadrunner Transit Route 1.
The Branigan Book Club discusses books with a more serious and literary focus and reads both fiction and nonfiction.

- October: “There There” by Tommy Orange
- November: “The Night Watchman” by Louise Erdrich
- December: “Tattoos on the Heart: The Power of Boundless Compassion” by Gregory Boyle
- January: “The Vice President’s Black Wife: The Untold Life of Julia Chinn” by Amrita Chakrabarti Myers
