Volunteers for Youth Sports

Parks and Recreation utilizes over 500 volunteer coaches in Youth Sports programs every year. The Coaching Volunteer Program is a rewarding way to spend time with your kids and their friends while helping them to learn sports skills from soccer, t-ball, football and basketball. Coaches are richly rewarded with the satisfaction they gain from working with kids in a team atmosphere

Coaches come from different backgrounds and sports knowledge bases, just as the player’s skills and knowledge varies. We ensure that all teams have an excellent coaching staff that is dedicated to the philosophy of Athletes first, winning second. We strive to provide volunteers with proper training that reinforces positive coaching, sportsmanship, and player development.
