People exercising in the grass

Las Cruces Public Libraries is hosting a Tai Chi for Health class on Tuesday mornings beginning Oct. 15.

The free classes start at 9:15 a.m. Tuesdays beginning Oct. 15. The class will be held in the Roadrunner Room at Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave. on Roadrunner Transit Route 1.

Tai chi is an art embracing the mind, body and spirit. Originating in ancient China, tai chi is one of the most effective exercises for a healthy mind and body. Although an art with great depth of knowledge and skill, it can be easy to learn and soon delivers its health benefits. For many, it continues as a lifetime journey.

Esther Minick will instruct the weekly class intended to improve arthritis and aid in fall prevention.

Participants who require accommodation for a disability are encouraged to call the library at (575) 528-4102. at least 48 hours in advance.

For more information, contact Deanna Duffy, Librarian, at (575) 528-4005 or by email at [email protected].
