Summer Studio Programs–Registration dates

Register starting April 23. Each week has a different deadline to register. Call or check online. Programs offered include drawing & Painting, Clay, Mixed Media, Acrylic painting, and Watercolor. Age groups are 6-10, 10-13, 13-17, and 18+. We host painting parties on some Fridays. Call or check online for our next one.

Journal with Jenny

Learn how to document your days, thoughts, feelings, and ideas using simple and creative techniques that go beyond the standard written journal. Expand your outlook on the way you see life by expressing yourself on the page. For ages 18 and up.

Gallery Geeks

Want to learn more about an exhibition at the Branigan Cultural Center? Participate in a self-guided gallery activity and discover a deeper connection to the exhibit. Pick up a kit at the front table during museum open hours. No registration required. All ages welcome.

Sage Cafe Game Time (and Puzzles)

Join us to play games and do puzzles every Friday from 12:30-2 pm at Sage Cafe! We do have some games, but feel free to bring one and some friends.

Mahjong

Have you heard of mahjong, but never played? Are you a mahjong shark? Either way, or somewhere in the middle, join us on Friday afternoons .

U Can Uke for Juniors!

Group ukulele lessons in the Roadrunner Room. 7 donated ukuleles have been provided by Las Cruces Ukes for patrons to borrow, but juniors with ukuleles are welcome to join. Registration is required to use a ukulele. Chord books and song books will be provided. For ages 7 to 18 with caregivers for younger children.

Washi Transformed Exhibit Opening

Help us celebrate the opening of the new Washi Transformed: New Expressions in Japanese Paper exhibit. There will be an exhibit opening reception featuring a drumming performance by Torii Taiko, that uses traditional Japanese drums and other Japanese instruments. All ages are welcome.

Education Station: Hanging Scrolls

Explore art as a family! Dive into art through projects inspired by individual artists, art movements, or other fun art topics. Kits are available for pickup on the second Saturday of the month while supplies last. All ages are welcome.

Trains! For Pre-K

The Railroad Museum has Pre-K games for your little one to enjoy. Come by the museum for engaging gallery activities made just for kids! Become a conductor and take control of our interactive model trains! Afterwards, test your knowledge with games or crafts. Drop-in: No registration required. Ages: 2-5.

Artventurous: Paper Crafts

Explore a topic from a current or recent museum exhibition through a fun, family-friendly art project. This is a drop-in program, and supplies will be provided. All ages are welcome.

Saturday Science–Microscopes in the Museum: Snake slides

Drop in and stay for a little or stay for a while to explore a new science topic each month. These hands-on activities and experiments are fun for the whole family. Adult caregiver participation is required. Ages: 6-10.

Animal Feedings: Snakes

What we eat is important to our health, and for the animals in the Nature Center it's no different. Learn about the enrichment activities we use during mealtimes and more while you watch them display their natural instincts. Now let's eat! No registration is required. All ages are welcome.

Adult Dungeons and Dragons

Adults, join the Thomas Branigan Memorial Library for Dungeons and Dragons! Make some new friends and go on exciting adventures, while playing Dungeons and Dragons at your Library! Whether it's your first time playing a role-playing game or you're a seasoned adventurer, we invite all adults to participate!
