Poster of laughter yoga

Las Cruces Public Libraries offers Chair Laughter Yoga classes on Wednesdays at Thomas Branigan Memorial Library.

The classes are held at 10:15 a.m. Wednesdays in the Roadrunner Room at Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave. on Roadrunner Transit Route 1.

Laughter Yoga is a popular movement and breathing exercise that aims to cultivate joy, bring out your inner child, and help you let go of daily life stressors. Laughter Yoga involves various movement and breathing exercises to promote intentional laughter.

A typical class will include breathing exercises, chanting, improv and aspects of yoga to help you relax and laugh. Laughing releases endorphins and “happy” hormones like dopamine and serotonin. This helps strengthen the immune system, and lower stress levels and rates of depression.

Laughter Yoga can also promote a greater sense of well-being, lower blood pressure and help you connect with others.

Join Xen Shiatsu Practitioner Richard Havey for an empowering session.
