Marigold garlands

Just in time for your Dia De Los Muertos altar, Las Cruces Public Libraries invite you to watch the Disney Pixar movie “Coco,” a heartwarming animated film that celebrates Mexican culture, family and the power of music.

“Coco” will be shown at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, in the Roadrunner Room at Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave.

The movie-time will also feature a crafting event featuring Papel de Seda in the form of a Nahuatl Marigold Flower garland. Registration is encouraged for participation in the crafting which is available while supplies last. The event runs from 12:30 to 2:45 p.m.

“Coco” is a 2017 film that takes audiences on an emotional journey that showcases stunning visuals, unforgettable music and powerful messages about love, remembrance and pursuing one’s dreams.

Coco is directed by Lee Unkrich and stars Anthony Gonzalez, Gael García Bernal, Benjamin Bratt, Alanna Ubach, Renee Victor. The movie is rated PG, with a runtime of 66 minutes.
