Fossils!: Types of Fossils

Explore the 3.5-billion-year odyssey of life with a geologist and real fossil specimens. Visit the station in the gallery and discover something new in the fossil record each month. All ages are welcome.

How was Corn Created?

Kids and their adult caregivers will be introduced to the Mesoamerican history of the creation of corn. Participants will create a painting to express what they learned during the class. This program is inspired by the Flowering of Precious Knowledge exhibit and presented in English and Spanish. Registration is required. Ages: 6-12.

Artventurous: Mixed Media

Explore a topic from a current or recent museum exhibition through a fun, family-friendly art project. This is a drop-in program, and supplies will be provided. All ages are welcome.

History Detectives

How do historians investigate the past? What sources do they use? What kinds of questions do they ask? Find out with new, historic sources every month. Please plan for a 30-minute program with optional 15 minutes for questions if needed. No registration required. Ages: 18+.

S.T.E.A.M. Saturdays

What happens when...? Hypothesize and experiment! Practice being a scientist, engineer, or designer with guided experiments to find some answers to "what happens when...?" Plan for a 30-minute program with optional 15 minutes for questions if needed. Registration recommended. Ages: 13+

Branigan Chess Club

The Thomas Branigan Memorial Library invites you to join us for the Branigan Chess Club! Join other chess aficionados and beginners as we meet weekly to learn, play and enjoy chess with Mr. Manny. Sessions will be held in the Children's Craft Room each Sunday at 1 PM. All ages welcome.

Yoga with Ivy

Promotes physical and mental well-being through specific postures (exercises) along with breathwork and meditation techniques. Variations can be given to support beginners to experienced students.

Low-impact exercise on a stationary bike. Great for beginners to experienced. Choose light, moderate, or intense workouts for cardiovascular strength and work core, upper, and lower body.
