U Can Uke for Juniors!

Group ukulele lessons in the Roadrunner Room. 7 donated ukuleles have been provided by Las Cruces Ukes for patrons to borrow, but juniors with ukuleles are welcome to join. Registration is required to use a ukulele. Chord books and song books will be provided. For ages 7 to 18 with caregivers for younger children.

Washi Transformed Exhibit Opening

Help us celebrate the opening of the new Washi Transformed: New Expressions in Japanese Paper exhibit. There will be an exhibit opening reception featuring a drumming performance by Torii Taiko, that uses traditional Japanese drums and other Japanese instruments. All ages are welcome.

Education Station: Hanging Scrolls

Explore art as a family! Dive into art through projects inspired by individual artists, art movements, or other fun art topics. Kits are available for pickup on the second Saturday of the month while supplies last. All ages are welcome.

Torii Taiko Demonstration

The members of Torii Taiko will introduce the history of Taiko drumming and some of the vocabulary associated with the drums and rhythms. Come learn about this amazing Japanese musical tradition. All ages are welcome.

The Railroad Museum has Pre-K games for your little one to enjoy. Come by the museum for engaging gallery activities made just for kids! Lullaby Lounge

Explore the 3.5-billion-year odyssey of life with a geologist and real fossil specimens. Visit the station in the gallery and discover something new in the fossil record each month. All ages are welcome.

How a Girl and a Monster Created Chocolate

Kids and their adult caregivers will be introduced to the Mesoamerican history of the origin of chocolate. This will include a cocoa tasting.
