The City’s Parks and Recreation Department will be accepting registrations for a free Winter Break Camp that runs Dec. 23, 2024, through Jan. 6, 2025, for children in grades six through 12.

The all-day camp will consist of academic assistance, a nutritional component in partnership with Families and Youth Incorporated, various recreational and creative activities, guest speakers and age-oriented enrichment opportunities.

The camp will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, Dec. 23 through Jan. 6, at the Frank O’Brien Papen Community Center, 304 W. Bell Ave. No camp will be held Dec. 25, Dec. 26 and Jan. 1.

Pick-up from the camp is the responsibility of the parent or guardian.

Registration opens Friday, Dec. 13, until the camp is full. Parents and guardians can register their children online or in-person at the following locations:

  • Parks and Recreation Administration Office, 1501 E. Hadley Ave., 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.
  • Frank O’Brien Papen Community Center, 304 W. Bell Ave., 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.
  • A. Fielder Memorial Safe Haven, 906 N. Tornillo St., noon to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.
