
As temperatures drop, the City of Las Cruces is committed to ensuring the safety and comfort of all residents by providing accessible warming stations. The National Weather Service has indicated a Winter Weather Advisory beginning Tuesday, January 7 and continuing through Friday, January 10, 2025.
Snow is possible in south central and southwest New Mexico, and southwest Texas and wind is expected to gust up to 40 mph as indicated in the advisory. City facility Warming stations will be activated on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. The City invites anyone in need of warmth and shelter to visit our designated facilities during the following times:
- Frank O’Brien Papen Center, 304 Bell Avenue
- 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday – Friday
- Meerscheidt Recreation Center, 1600 E. Hadley Avenue
- 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday – Friday
- 9 a.m. to 6 p.m Saturday
- Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho Avenue
- 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday – Thursday
- 10 a.m. to 6 p.m Friday
- 1 – 5 p.m. Sunday
- Munson Senior Center, 975 S. Mesquite Street
- 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday – Friday
- Sage Café, 6121 Reynolds Drive
- 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday – Friday
- Benavidez Center 1045 McClure Road
- 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday – Friday
Staff at each center are prepared for anyone who seeks refuge from the cold. Please don’t hesitate to make use of these resources.
