The Parks and Recreation Department’s Keep Las Cruces Beautiful Program (KLCB) will host a free Neighborhood Dumpster Day from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024.
KLCB will provide open-top trash containers for the community to dump yard waste, household trash, and other permissible items for free. KLCB staff will be available to provide support, program information, and guide users regarding the items requested to be tossed into the containers.
Container locations:
- Tony Gomez Park, 2283 S. Espina Street
- Henry R. Benavidez Community Center, 1045 McClure Road
- Las Cruces Skatepark, 165 N. Walnut Street
Items NOT allowed in a Solid Waste Container are:
- No Medical Waste (per section 20.9.8.8 NMAC of the New Mexico Environmental Protection regulations)
- Hot ashes/coals
- Tires or any vehicle parts (including car batteries)
- Fluorescent light bulbs
- Large yard waste items (stumps or trunks)
- Concrete, bricks, and or rocks
- Toxic, combustible, or hazardous materials
- Toilets/Sinks
- Refrigerators (anything with refrigerant)
- Animal carcasses
Locations of open-top containers will be monitored. Residents must unload their own items.
